How do you take a picture of your screen with your computer?

  • just like the title says. if you know please help and explain! and my computer is an HP. thanks.


  • Depends on your computer.
    On mine, I must hold down the FN key & then the insert key.
    Others you can just hit the PRT SC key.
    Better yet, you can go to download.com & get Gadwin PrintScreen 4.3
    It's free.


  • I use a nifty program called MWsnap. You can easily capture your entire screen or portions of it, set hotkeys, and specify the saved file type.
    It's free btw.


  • on your keyboard, there should be a key called print screen or PrtScr. press this when you want to take the picture. now open up paint start>accessories>paint and press edit>paste. the screenshot you took earlier should appear. now, save the image.


  • Hold down the shift key then press print screen - open mspaint and then paste - then you will have a picture of your screen.


  • there should be a print screen button on keyboard on top right, around F12 button. hit that. it is saved for clipboard so go to something like microsoft word and hit control V and print will be there.
