I don't have much stuff to put on my Resume for college, What should I do?

  • I Played 3 sports Freshman, Sophomore year; Football,Wrestling, Lacrosse. Junior and Senior year I got a job and stopped Wrestling but still play Football and Lacrosse. I don't have any extra curricular activities. I play guitar though if that counts for anything lol. I have 40 hours of community service. Would it be worth joining clubs and stuff now or is it too late?

  • I don't know that you really need to add a bunch of extracurricular activities, the list of things you have done is pretty impressive. As long as you have grades to support your entry then those items you mentioned should certainly suffice. I got into the UW School of Business with an average GPA and absolutely zero extracurricular activities because I write very well, the admissions faculty is doing their job correctly if they evaluate each candidate on their individual merits.

Having sports on your resume is a plus, it shows teamwork and devotion (football certainly ain't no cakewalk!). You should also mention that you got a job, make sure you mention why you got a job in a favorable light and highlight any accomplishments at your job. Community service is also a plus, as long as it wasn't in conjunction with some sort of court order :P
