Where did the team name 'Browns' come from?

  • Dunno, but i think it is funny that the Cincinnati baseball team's name is another name for Communists.

  • They were going to name their team depending on how successful it would be.

    It had to be rated "G".


  • After the coach or owner or something! I learned this in Hooters University dammit, now I can't remember! Well either way Hooters is color-themed after the Browns :)

  • I believe they were named after Paul Brown who was a legendary coach. He invented the helmet, the qb pocket and many other innovations of the time.


  • They are named after Paul Brown who founded the team, coached the team, and founded the Bengals after he sold the Browns. As he got older, he wanted to lighten his lload a bit and just be the Browns coach,. But, the new owners lied to him and fired him, so he started some in-state competition.
